Unique jury hopes for many nominations of talented employees

The daily grocery gala brings people together. The unique jury for the category of Employee of the Year includes HR managers from all chains, and they all unanimously agree on the importance of this category.

Last year, the category Employee of the Year was introduced at the Grocery Gala with recruitment tool Higher as a partner. Stina Stenquist, HR Manager at Ica, Helena Holmqvist, HR Manager at City Gross, and Charlotte Welin Zetterlund, HR Manager at Hemköp, were already part of the jury. This year, Helena Erlingsjö, HR Director at Lidl, and Alexandra Berglund, HR Manager at Coop Butiker & Stormarknader, have joined and completed the group with representatives from all the chains.

"It's not often that we gather like this," Charlotte Welin Zetterlund remarked when the jury members met for the first time.

Indeed, it is rare to meet across chain boundaries. For the HR colleagues, it was a unique opportunity when they met for the first time at Higher's office to record a video.

In the finished video, the five HR representatives unanimously encourage nominations for Employee of the Year. They hope to receive many nominations before the deadline on May 31st. Considering there are 100,000 store employees to choose from in Sweden, there should be plenty of candidates.

"Our employees do a fantastic job and deserve recognition," says Alexandra Berglund.

Stina Stenquist emphasizes that the job requires breadth and competence, and that the store employee is the ultimate and foremost ambassador for the brand.

"It's easy to forget how much store employees contribute, from stocking shelves to meeting both the needs of the store and the customers. And most importantly, the customer interaction. That's why this award is so important."

You can watch the video with all the HR managers here, where you can also nominate via Higher's tool (also available on dagligvarugalan.se).
