New requirements for recruitment

Linnea Molla joined Apotea in 2018. Her main tasks involve recruiting for Apotea's logistics center in Morgongåva. The facility covers an area of 38,000 square meters and approximately 1 million packages are sent from the center each month. It is the largest employer in Heby municipality, with 900 job opportunities. On average, 150-300 employees are recruited per year.

"At most, I believe we have hired 400-500 people in a year," Linnea shares.

The high volume of recruitments demands a seamless recruitment process that can handle large numbers of candidates. When Linnea started working at Apotea, she found that the CV-based method used by Apotea was slow and lacked precision.

"It didn't suit our operations. The hit rate was low. We also needed a faster pace in the recruitment process," says Linnea.

Increased hit rate and saved time

Apotea decided to think outside the box and tried Higher's CV-free video-based system. Linnea believes that Higher has significantly streamlined the recruitment process and highlights a number of factors:

"It's easy to manage candidates, move and tag them, and write comments directed to colleagues involved in the recruitment process. Communication within the tool is straightforward, eliminating the need for multiple communication channels. Being able to create templates for emails and text messages, for example, is very useful. It is user-friendly for both recruiters and applicants."

Linnea particularly emphasizes the video-based approach, which she believes has increased the accuracy of recruitment. The video solution provides a good impression of the candidate right away, whereas previously, this impression was only formed during the interview stage.

"Thanks to the video solution, we have increased the hit rate and saved a lot of time."

During the pandemic year of 2020, Apotea faced a stress test in terms of new recruitment, as e-commerce experienced a sudden and dramatic surge in demand.

"We greatly benefited from Higher in 2020 when we managed to recruit around 200 employees within a month to meet the demand."
